About the event

What to expect in a virtual class

The link above will talk about what to expect in one of my virtual events.

Join me for a day of long arm quilting from the comfort of your own home.  In the first half of the class, we will focus on free-motion quilting.  We will talk about tips to make free-motion quilting more fun and I will help you trust in yourself to be successful.  As someone who loves his robotics system, I love even more to dress up those designs with some free-motion quilting.  You do not need a robotics system for this class, all you need is a passion for long arm quilting.  In the afternoon, we will switch our focus to stitching out feathers.  We will talk about the different types and I will share hints and tricks to help you make perfect feathers (are there really perfect feathers).  Each session will be 3 hrs, with an hour break in the middle (6 hours of instruction total).  I know it sounds like a long time, but with your participation, and stitching along with me, the time really flys.

This session is starting at 10AM in the Eastern timezone.  I am doing another class on Dec. 4th starting at 10AM in the Eastern timezone, so pick the one that will work best for you.

Once you sign up, you will receive an email with a link to my YouTube, and a video explaining what to expect and how to prepare for class.  I suggest loading up 2 yards of fabric (you get a lot of room to play this way).  I load mine selvages to the leader so I don't have to advance often.  A marking tool is suggested, as we will be marking areas on the fabric to stitch in.  This is a practice piece, so anything can be used.  I also like to pick a bright, fun thread color to use, that way if you are not happy with the look, you still like the pretty thread.  A dark solid fabric works great with a bright thread on top!  You will see in my video I like to use a dark purple or blue with a bright yellow, orange, or pink variegated thread.
